Ah yes, Christmas can't be far away now

Ronnie Harwood is releasing two 'new' Christmas singles, one recently written and one written at the height of his and Shakin' Stevens' popularity, in 1981, but never officially released until now.

Ronnie told us, "I wanted to release a Christmas song that I wrote and recorded back in 1981. It was intended for Shaky at the time. Having just written 'Christmas Can't Be Far Away' for a possible TV sync this year, I thought why not release the track 'Santa's On His Way' now as well.

"We had so much fun recording it. Billy Bremner plays guitar on the track. We recorded it in December 1981, so we were actually feeling Christmassy when we did it," Ronnie remembers with a smile. "It was done at Fast Buck Studios in West London. Ed Hamilton was our sound engineer."

Released on Ronnie's Georgia Records label, with digital distribution handled by Horus Music, the tracks will be available very soon for download from iTunes, Amazon and other popular music download sites.

"May I take a moment and wish you all a great 2016," Ronnie added. "Merry Christmas everyone."

Mind the Gap song co-written by Ronnie Harwood and Fast FreddieIvor Novello award winning songwriter, Ronnie Harwood, has got together with Fast Freddie, well known singer and frontman of 'Fast Freddie's Fingertips', to write and release "Mind the Gap", a single available as a download on iTunes, and what may become something of a cult video on YouTube. The song was inspired by the heart-warming story of Oswald Laurence, who was the iconic voice of the "Mind the Gap" public warning message on the London Underground.

Ashleigh & Pudsey perform 'Me and My Dog' in Panto

Ashleigh and Pudsey perform to the Ronnie Harwood written "Me and My Dog"Ashleigh Butler of 'Ashleigh & Pudsey', 2012 winners of TV show 'Britain's Got Talent', performed to Ronnie Harwood's "Me and My Dog" during the performances of the Christmas pantomime 'Dick Whittington' at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking, Surrey. The pantomime, which ran from 7th December until 6th January 2013, featured the talented dog trick act after the pair had performed in November at the Royal Variety Performance in the presence of the Queen.

Ronnie wrote the song about his own dog, Sky, a cross breed German Shepherd / Border Collie. There's a nice little story of how Ashleigh came to perform to her version of the song in pantomime.
